Villa Mattise (5 Bedroom)

The riverside Villa Mattisse is hidden away in the heart of the traditional fishing village of Seseh, just footsteps away from the beach on Bali’s southwest coast. The villa can accommodate up to ten guests; there are four double bedrooms complete with en-suite bathrooms, and a fifth bedroom with a single bed. Two of the bedrooms are situated within self-contained guest houses in the garden, and there is also a large swimming pool that almost seems to overflow into the river. The style is unashamedly romantic, and the funky colonial architecture is enhanced by a thatched roof and a bold black, white and silver décor.

Floor plan : There is a main building with two storey’s and there are two separate guest bungalows in the garden located at each end of the pool. The Main house consists of a kitchen and living-area downstairs with a large veranda in front of the total length of the house. There is a separate TV/computer and lounge area in the middle. A smaller bedroom is also down stairs with separate bathroom facilities. The large upstairs floor is divided into two (double bed) bedrooms and they each have a separate bathroom (shower) and relax corner overlooking the pool, river and sea. The guests bungalows each have a bedroom and a bathroom. They also have a private relax porch in front of the bungalows overlooking the pool and river.

Semarapura is derived from Kawi or Old Java language which literally means place of love. The villa is a masterpiece of tasteful modern architecture with several levels of harmonious applications of materials to blend with the Bali atmosphere creating an open feeling to the sound of the waves, sunlight and tropical ocean breeze. Yet one feels sheltered in rooms facing the ocean with glass paneled closures as an option.

The large open living room looks out above the horizon to views of distance Bukit and on clear days, views of Java. The dining area on a mid-level is exposed to the view, as well as the kitchen to the side which has an attractive colonial style with an inviting bar area for intimate kitchen mingling.

The far guest house structure on a lower level has a large bedroom (with view) downstairs with a signature bathroom of the villa, having windows all around exposed to outer gardens. The bedroom upstairs has a large balcony for lounging. The large swimming pool is the focal point of the property in front of the main house with a refreshing shower rod spraying water under a pergola terrace.

In the rear area of the property are three separate structures. Two are similar with a loft area and ensuite bathrooms. To the furthest side is the master suite bedroom with a large sitting area and open verandah with a large Jacuzzi facing the ocean view, garden and swimming pool to the far right.
